Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life. –John Updike
Last night we were blessed with a long summer thunderstorm during the middle of the night. I couldn’t sleep but was happy to check the rainfall totals this morning and it appears we got over 3″ here in the Heights. Rain is a mixed blessing in our house. We plant gardens for a living and after years of drought we are so happy to see Houston returning to its lush green splendor. The down side is slogging through the mud in the middle of a landscaping install. I will still take the rain!
Here is a few shots I took this morning at Ravenscourt Garden!
Happy Gardening!
I’m so jealous. The rain missed us yet again. I saw where parts of Houston had some pretty bad flooding. I was sorry to hear that. Rain in August would be very unusual in Austin, but we can always hope.
