This morning after a late evening heavy rain I was greeted with all of these beautiful flowers. I still love the rain but there have been so many days this year when we haven’t been able to work for several days! As always the garden tells me to celebrate nature! I do know the sun is coming back soon : )

(((After The Rain)))
I missed you the other day
When the dew left its diamond glitter upon the grass
And the squirrels and frogs were frolicking merry
When the silence of daybreak calmed
And the sunrise ever warmed
With its gentle rays dancing across my skin
Giving me hints of a fluffy white cloud or two
Promising an entire new day
Of peace and contentment
A perfect day-this
But for the glaring-almost blindingly-blazing
Absence of you

Happy Spring!
Lovely flowers and poem! I love the rain but we’re have crazy weather with cooling and then heat waves that fry our plants. I hope it gets more stable soon.

Well, not really but theses plants are pretty tolerant and even when it is hot it is 98% humidity. Much like living in a hothouse 😊

Love the unusual Japanese Sacred Lily…so unusual. Weather: there’s a reason it remains a hot topic of conversation.

I love planting unusual plants, I have 3 Japanese Sacred Lilies and they are even pretty when they form seed heads. Ah the weather!

It is lovely isn’t it! Milk and Wine Crinum Lily. The blooms only last a few weeks. I won it at a lecture from a guy knows as the Bulb Hunter, he owns http://www.southernbulbs.com/ He digs up bulbs on back roads and on old homesteads all over Texas. Crinums naturalize here. This one has already spread some. : )

Beautiful flowers. Hope you aren’t badly affected by the flooding in Houston! Many years ago I lived in the Houston Heights and I recall lots of flooding in Houston but nothing of the magnitude described in the news. Stay dry and safe.

Thank you! We are pretty high and so do not flood but the ground is so soggy! My heart breaks for the people and animals in the low lands. And for our crew that lives pay check to pay check. We have lost so many days trying to wait for the ground to dry out. We are running about a month behind now. But we are the lucky ones!
